Here are the top three stories in St. Louis today:

  1. St. Louis residents can get up to $750 toward water and sewer bills through Missouri American Water and MSD Project Clear's Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program. The program is federally funded and is meant to provide a one-time grant for low-income families. The program will continue through September 2023; prospective participants can apply here (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
  2. The St. Louis area experienced record heat yesterday, Jun. 21. The area had high humidity levels and temperatures in the upper 90s. The heat index hit 105 degrees. The heat returns on Friday with relief on Sunday when temperatures have highs of 88 degrees. (KSDK.com)
  3. Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt targeted some St. Louis area schools over an "intrusive" survey. Schmitt subpoenaed the school districts for information after conservative nonprofit Southeastern Legal Foundation demanded him to investigate. The surveys were reportedly more benign than the Attorney General and the nonprofit has been claiming. They asked students to rate how they felt regarding school comfort levels, racial discussions, and stress management. (Riverfront Times)
