  1. A group of demonstrators gathered downtown on Wednesday to protest the imprisonment of a man they say was wrongly convicted more than three decades ago. Chris Dunn of St. Louis was convicted of murder in 1990 despite eyewitnesses recanting their statements and a lack of physical evidence in the case. The Missouri Supreme Court denied a petition to hear Dunn’s case last August. (KMOV4)
  2. The St. Louis Zoo has temporarily closed the Bird House and Cypress Swamp in an effort to help guard against Avian flu. The news came Thursday morning, one day after St. Louis County announced a “presumptive positive” case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, or HPAI. The zoo added that HPAI does not pose a human health concern for zoo guests. (KTVI Fox 2 St. Louis)
  3. The six chefs and one restaurant from St. Louis named as semifinalists in the 2022 James Beard Awards have been eliminated from the running. The James Beard Foundation announced the finalists for this year's competition on Wednesday. The St. Louis-area chefs nominated as semifinalists were Ben Grupe, Elise Mensing, Rob Connoley, Craig Rivard, Evy Swoboda, and Ben Welch. (KSDK.com)
