Ehlmann Declares State of Emergency in St. Charles County

Following Friday night's storms, St. Charles County Executive Steve Ehlmann has declared a State of Emergency for St. Charles County. 

According to a release from St. Charles County, authorities are currently in touch with the State Emergency Management Agency. 

The County said damage seems to be confined to a 10 square mile area between Caulks Hill and Pitman Hill Road near St. Peters. Damage includes trees down, power lines down and structural damage. 

According to the release, the most extensive damage is at Cambridge Crossing, Whitmoor and Camelot. Haversham appears to have received the worst damage with 3 to 4 homes leveled by the storm.  Pralle Road has 10 homes missing roofs, and Becky David Elementary has roof damage. 

In a four-hour block during the storms, 25 injuries were responded to by EMS and fire, but the County could not say if all are  necessarily storm related. There are currently no life-threatening injuries.

The storm damaged the roof of the family arena allowing water to come into the concourse. Francis Howell has called off graduation ceremonies scheduled for Saturday at the venue.
