St. Peters City Council Approves Automatic Pay Increases

The St. Peters Board of Aldermen on Thursday approved annual pay raises for its members on a 5-2 vote.

The automatic raises will be tied to the annual personal living increase in Missouri for the previous year. The raises will start in May 2016.  
Board members are currently paid $14,525 a year.

The Board of Alderemen approved the ordinance with no discussion. Aldermen Dave Thomas, Rocky Reitmeyer, Jerry Hollingsworth, Terri Violet, and Patrick Barclay voted in favor of the raise. Aldermen Don Aytes and Judy Bateman voted against the raise. Alderman Tommy Roberts was absent. 

The automatic raises were suspended in 2007. The Board of Alderman approved pay raises for people appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission and the Board of Adjustment.

Planning and Zoning Commission members will make $85 a month, up from $75, and Board of Adjustment members will make $75 a month, up from $50 a month.
