A medical condition while driving caused a St. Peters man to drive off the road on Tuesday morning.
James B. Wilhelm, 55, was taken to Progress West by St. Charles County Ambulance following a single-car crash on westbound Missouri Route 94 west of Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The crash occurred just after 9:30 a.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Wilhelm was heading west when he began to experience a "medical condition." Wilhelm then drove off the left side of road and struck the ground.
Wilhelm, who was wearing a safety device in the crash, was listed as being in serious condition following the crash.
His car, a 2008 Hyundai Tiburon, sustained minor damage in the crash.
