Week in Review: Francis Howell Addresses Transfer Situation; Driver Purposely Struck Another Vehicle

In case you missed them, here were some of the top headlines from the St. Peters Patch from the last few days.

• The city of St. Peters wants residents to know they don't need address numbers to be painting on curbs. According to city staff, some resident have recently encountered solicitors are selling a service to paint address numbers on curbs. Because of these solicitors, the city wants residents to know it does not recommend nor endorse painting address numbers on curbs in front of homes. The solicitors are unaffiliated with the city.

• A 19-year-old man, placed on probation in May after pleading guilty to burglary, now is accused of a burglary and vehicle theft in St. Peters. Damarco Andre Allah, 19, of the 100 block of Candlelight Court in St. Charles County near St. Peters, was charged with second-degree burglary and stealing a van.

• A woman purposely struck another car and then refused to stop when officers tried to pull her over, police said. Jessica Sue Kinder, 26, of the first block of St. Lawrence Drive in St. Peters, was charged July 1 with first-degree property damage, resisting arrest and driving while intoxicated.

• Test scores. Overcrowded classrooms. The district's value — in measurable dollars and residents' way of living — and security. These are just a few of the issues raised Thursday night in the packed standing-room-only gym of Francis Howell Central High School.  The Francis Howell School District met with parents, students and residents in attendance at a public town hall forum to "provide information and address questions regarding the recent student transfer decision upheld by the Missouri Supreme Court," according to the event description listed online.
