• Missouri bill would require cursive, pens, penci and limit K-5 screens (thetelegraph.com) — A new Missouri bill from Wentzville’s state representative would sharply limit K-5 classroom screen time and require more traditional tools like pencils, paper workbooks, and cursive instruction statewide. If passed, it would take effect in the 2027-28 school year, mandating that most student work be done on paper and restricting schools’ reliance on tablets and digital textbooks.

• HNB Bank, with two St. Joseph branches, announces merger with Kearney Trust Company (newspressnow.com) — HNB National Bank, which operates a branch in Wentzville, plans to merge with Kearney Trust Company, expanding services across a larger Missouri network. Bank leaders say customers, including those in Wentzville, should not see immediate changes to branches, staff, or daily banking as the deal awaits regulatory approval and a planned closing in mid-2026.
