• Several accidents were reported on Saturday by Troop G of the Highway Patrol. (ecommnewsnetwork.com) — A 21-year-old West Plains woman suffered minor injuries after hitting a deer on Highway 60 west of Mountain View, one of several crashes reported by the Highway Patrol on Saturday. Other accidents across the region sent drivers from Bucyrus, Poplar Bluff, Willow Springs, and Mountain Grove to area hospitals with moderate injuries.
   

• Students from several schools take part in annual Capitol Choir Christmas performance (houstonherald.com) — West Plains students joined choirs from 14 other south-central Missouri schools for a festive Capitol Choir Christmas performance at the Missouri State Capitol, filling the building with holiday music. Lawmakers highlighted the importance of arts education and praised the students’ hard work as this growing tradition marked its fifth year of bringing together communities from across the region.
