While districts like Swan River face sharp declines, others such as Cayuse Prairie and Kila are growing and turning to voters for facility and program support, all amid rising education costs and a statewide review of Montana’s school funding formula. 
• Flathead County high schools secure top spots at Western Regional Speech and Debate Tournament (dailyinterlake.com) — Bigfork High School’s speech and debate team earned third place among Class A, B and C schools at the Western Regional tournament, highlighted by individual wins from Brody Henion and Madeline Pomeroy. Glacier and Flathead dominated Class AA, while Columbia Falls and Whitefish joined Bigfork atop the smaller-school standings in Kalispell.
