  1. The Park County Community Foundation and Bozeman's Greater Gallatin United Way raised over $3 million in flood relief funds for the Yellowstone River flood that occurred on Jun. 13, 2022, and their efforts are ongoing. The flood affected over 400 homes and businesses in nearby Park County, leaving many without shelter or livelihoods. While the community is still in the process of rebuilding, the support and resilience shown by local and global communities have made a positive impact, and there are still opportunities to contribute to the recovery efforts through donations to various nonprofits in Park County. 2. The City of Bozeman is experiencing a surge in urban camping, with many people setting up camp around town. While some residents have expressed displeasure on social media, camper Zach Jenkins strives to be a considerate neighbor, keeping his area clean and being mindful of noise. The city has established rules to address issues such as littering and obstructing bike lanes, but they are also providing assistance through street clean-up initiatives, earning appreciation from campers like Jenkins. 3. Bozeman's overnight shelter, the Bozeman Warming Center, reopened after being closed for a week for repairs, cleaning, and staff training. The decision to close the facility was difficult but necessary to address facility needs and provide training in de-escalation and emergency response. While funding remains a challenge, the shelter accommodated some guests with physical health issues during the closure and aims to serve more individuals in need in the coming days.
