Baseball coaches hired for new teams at Bozeman High and Gallatin High (bozemandailychronicle.com) — Bozeman High and Gallatin High will launch school baseball in spring 2026, with veteran local coach Johnny Graham and trainer-turned-coach Greg Shannahan leading the new teams. Practices start March 16 and games begin March 26, marking a big expansion of Bozeman’s high school sports options.

County approves $523,800 to protect potato farm between Manhattan and Churchill (kulr8.com) — Gallatin County just approved over half a million dollars from its Open Lands Fund to help permanently protect White’s Potato Farm between Manhattan and Churchill, preserving views and wildlife habitat important to the greater Bozeman area. The conservation easement would leverage major federal funding, keep the land in agriculture for future generations, and add to a growing block of protected open space in the valley.
   

3. 9 of the best mountain bike trails built in North America in 2025 (singletracks.com) — Bozeman riders just gained their first-ever flow trail, Gnomadic, a feature-packed freeride descent built on private land at Bridger Bowl and Crosscut. The piece explains how local group Dirt Concern and builder TerraFlow created a jump-filled, rollable blue freeride trail that’s already drawing rave reviews, and places it among nine standout new mountain bike trails across North America.
   

4. Former Big Sky Fire Deputy Chief pleads not guilty to theft, misconduct charges (kbzk.com) — In a Bozeman courtroom, a former Big Sky Fire Department deputy chief pleaded not guilty to multiple theft and misconduct charges tied to alleged misuse of department funds over several years. Prosecutors say audits and a forensic review uncovered questionable timecards, travel reimbursements, and credit card purchases. The case will move toward a 2026 trial, with fire officials stressing transparency and public trust.
