- Montana State University in Bozeman plans to partner with a developer to construct a hotel on campus, allowing students in hospitality management and culinary arts to gain practical experience and internships in the growing hospitality industry. Located in the South University District, near the university's facilities, the hotel will also serve as a venue for academic classes and provide students with convenient work opportunities between their scheduled classes. School officials say the on-campus hotel could expand enrollment in the hospitality management program. (Montana Right Now)
- This past weekend, Bozeman triathlete Dylan Gillespie competed in the Ironman 70.3 Boulder. Following his impressive third-place finish in the Ironman 70.3 Peru, Gillespie qualified for the upcoming Ironman 70.3 World Championship in Finland, marking his first time qualifying for the prestigious event after 15 years of racing and support from his loved ones. The local athlete plans to tackle one more race in July ahead of the world championship in August. (Montana Right Now)
- A group advocating for tenants' rights has urged the City of Bozeman to prohibit short-term rentals of second homes, including those listed on Airbnb and Vrbo. The group, named Bozeman Tenants United, believes a ban would open up approximately 900 housing units currently utilized for vacation rentals — a move that could address the housing shortage faced by renters in Bozeman. The Bozeman City Commission is scheduled to discuss an ordinance on Jun. 27 that aims to align short-term rentals with updated codes that last underwent revision in 2017. (NBC Montana)
