- There has been a drastic increase in local domestic violence cases recently. The Missoula County Attorney's Office in Montana charged 25 new criminal complaints last week, which is significantly higher than the weekly average and includes many violent crimes and domestic violence incidents. Chief Deputy County Attorney Matt Jennings mentioned that most domestic incidents involve complicated situations with children and relationships, and alcohol is often a triggering factor. - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) will start the West Broadway — Old Hwy 10 and Path Preservation project on May 1. The project will focus on the pavement preservation of West Broadway, also known as Old Highway 10, and the Northside Greenway Trail. Drivers can expect single-lane closures and flaggers through the work zone, and detours and signs will be present in affected areas. (NBC Montana)
- The Historical Museum at Fort Missoula is accepting applications for its Preserving Missoula County's History Grants, which are available to non-profit organizations involved in historic preservation and interpretation projects in Missoula County. The total amount of funds available for the fiscal year 2024 is $10,000, with a maximum grant of $5,000 per project. Applications are due on Jun. 15, and grants will be awarded in July 2023 by the Missoula Board of Trustees for the Historical Museum. (NBC Montana)
