- Montana Democratic Representative Zooey Zephyr has been barred from appearing on the floor of the Montana House of Representatives for the rest of the legislative session by Republican leadership after she criticized lawmakers who voted for a ban on gender-affirming medical procedures for transgender youth. On Monday, Apr. 24, protesters gathered in the House gallery to protest, resulting in the House gallery being cleared and seven arrests. (KTVH News)
- A Missoula man has been identified in an officer-involved shooting on Apr. 24 in nearby Lake County on Cold Creek Lane. The deceased was identified as 27-year-old Christopher Ochs, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Lake County Sheriff's Office released a press statement regarding the incident and the individual's identity. (KGVO Newstalk)
- The deconstruction of the former Sleepy Inn Motel in Missoula will take longer and cost more than expected due to additional plaster and drywall material, asbestos piping, and a larger crawlspace being discovered during the deconstruction process. The new estimated cost of the project is $318,828. Local firms, including Heritage Timber and ACM, are handling the deconstruction and asbestos abatement. (KGVO Newstalk)
