Here are the top three stories today in Missoula:
- Law enforcement is investigating an incident in which Beatracks Bridge in Missoula was vandalized. Over the weekend, officers found the concrete metal sign ripped from the ground and lying on the stairs. The sign highlights the indigenous connection to the area and information for community members to read. (NBC Montana)
- The Montana Department of Transportation announced that the rehabilitation of one of the long bridge sections over the Clark Fork River is set to begin. Traffic on I-90 just west of the Missoula Valley will be a little slower this week due to the construction. Construction includes the complete replacement of the bridge deck, installing a new barrier and guardrail, and making some minor repairs to the bridge substructure. (KGVO)
- On Mar. 19, a malfunction in the chairlift system at Montana Snowbowl near Missoula caused Nathan McLeod and his four-year-old son, who were seated in the chairlift, to collide with a tower. The child was ejected from the seat and fell to the ground. Luckily, the child was unharmed, but McLeod was dissatisfied with the non-response that this terrifying incident produced. He said that he later discovered that Snow Park has a reputation for chairlift accidents, and the employees and operators brushed off his concern. (Unofficial Networks)
