• Falls Council holds final meeting of 2025 (scledger.net) — Thompson Falls city government is undergoing a major transition as four council members and Mayor Rusti Leivestad attended their final meeting, while incoming mayor Gussie O’Connor took the oath of office. The council approved an updated Comprehensive Plan, advanced wastewater system upgrades, and pushed key issues like speed limits, water rules, parking, and salaries to the new council starting in January.
   

• Hawks battle stiff mat competition in Polson (vp-mi.com) — Thompson Falls wrestling fans have plenty to cheer about as the Blue Hawks opened their season against tough, mostly Class A competition at the Owen Invitational in Polson. Sophomore Weston Block led the way with a second-place finish at 126 pounds, while teammates Lexi Volk and Matae Keefe also placed, and coaches say the entire squad is showing strong early-season growth.
   

• Western Montana's big game season ends with average harvest (vp-mi.com) — Hunters using the Thompson Falls check station helped contribute to an overall average big game harvest in western Montana this season, with 27 elk reported there. Across Regions 1 and 2, white-tailed deer remained the mainstay, mule deer numbers shifted slightly, and late cold weather boosted elk success. Hunters still have muzzleloader and some elk opportunities through December 21.
