• South Locust Street to reopen for the winter season (ksnblocal4.com) — Drivers in Grand Island will soon get all lanes back on South Locust Street between the State Fairgrounds and Railside for the winter, after months of disruptive construction. Public Works says cold weather makes paving impossible, so major work will pause until spring, when crews will tackle a new roundabout and finish remaining upgrades that will again require closures.
   

• High School Basketball Scores: Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025 (nebraska.tv) — Grand Island hoops fans saw plenty of action Saturday, with Grand Island Central Catholic’s boys winning at Hastings and Grand Island Lutheran’s girls falling at home to Nebraska Christian. The roundup also includes North Platte at Grand Island and dozens of other boys and girls scores from across Nebraska.
   

• $120,000 Nebraska Pick 5 winning ticket sold in Grand Island (wowt.com) — A Nebraska Pick 5 ticket worth $120,000 was sold at the Pump & Pantry on South Locust Street in Grand Island, and the winner hasn’t come forward yet. If you bought a ticket for the Sunday, Dec. 14 drawing, check your numbers soon, because the prize expires in 180 days and must be claimed at lottery headquarters in Lincoln.
