Omaha, NE β Applications for Mayor Jean Stothertβs Neighborhood Grants program are now being accepted for 2022 projects.

Mayor Stothert has awarded grants to Omaha neighborhood associations annually since 2014, totaling more than $550,000.
βThe Neighborhood Grants program encourages innovation and collaboration,β said Mayor Jean Stothert. βWe have funded many worthwhile projects including community gardens, neighborhood park improvements, pantries, public art, youth recreation, and neighborhood activities that promote community pride and encourage participation in neighborhood activities.β

Proposals should focus on projects to improve the neighborhoodβs appearance and livability, impact to the environment, or neighborhood capacity building.
Applications are available on Mayor Stothertβs website, https://mayors-office.cityofomaha.org/neighborhoods. The application deadline is 4:00 p.m. on March 14, 2022.
Neighborhood organizations must be registered and listed in the City of Omaha Neighborhood Directory by March 9, 2022.
Applications will be reviewed by a committee including representatives of the City of Omaha Planning, Public Works, Parks, and Police Departments, The Omaha Community Foundation, and the Mayorβs Grants team. Final awards will be approved by Mayor Stothert. Grant recipients will be announced in May.
Neighborhood grants are funded in the City of Omaha General Fund budget and are not affiliated with other grant opportunities available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).
