1. North Omaha community members, organizations collect over 6,000 diapers for families in need (3newsnow.com) — Neighbors in North Omaha just rallied to collect more than 6,000 diapers and wipes for families visiting Clair Memorial United Methodist Church’s monthly food drive. Led by KMTV’s Melissa Wright and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, volunteers handed out diaper packs Saturday and will keep distributing remaining supplies to Omaha-area families in need.
   

2. OPOA seeking information on hit-and-run pedestrian crash that killed Omaha man (wowt.com) — Police are still searching for the driver in a deadly hit-and-run that killed 25-year-old Matthew Siles near 43rd and Cuming in midtown Omaha, and officers are asking for the public’s help. Investigators say a Tesla hit Siles Wednesday morning and was later found near 37th and Dodge, but the driver remains at large. Anyone with information can contact Omaha Crime Stoppers anonymously.
   

3. Omaha police respond to dead body found in a Millard dumpster (3newsnow.com) — Omaha police are investigating a suspicious death after an adult man’s body was found in a dumpster behind a Millard plaza near 13520 Discovery Drive. Officers say the incident appears isolated and there’s no current threat to the public, but they’re still working to learn how long the body was there and what happened.
   

4. George Le'Roy Battle Jr. - AUGUST 27, 1951 – DECEMBER 7, 2025 (fortworthreport.org) — Omaha is remembering Elder George LeRoy Battle Jr., born here in 1951 and a graduate of North Omaha High School’s Class of 1969. After growing up partly on Air Force bases, he returned to Omaha, studied at Creighton University on a Warren Buffett Foundation scholarship, and built a career in ministry and addiction treatment.
   

5. ‘We will walk with you': Omaha advocates urge support for Lexington workers as plant closes (northplattepost.com) — Omaha community leaders and nonprofits are rallying support for thousands of Tyson workers in Lexington who will lose their jobs when a major meatpacking plant closes in January, and they’re asking Omaha residents to donate or volunteer. Speaking from Omaha’s Latino Center of the Midlands, organizers stressed statewide solidarity and warned of ripple effects on schools, businesses, and families in rural Nebraska.
