Last month, creditors who say they are owed $13 million from Brandon Sattler, a high roller at Resorts World, subpoenaed Sibella to be deposed March 10 in bankruptcy fraud proceedings against Sattler.
The subpoena asks Sibella to supply information regarding his personal financial interests, and any payments to Sattler since he filed bankruptcy.

“… this Subpoena is unduly burdensome and proffered solely to harass non-party Scott Sibella. As such, Scott Sibella will not produce any documents, communications or electronically stored information in response to this Subpoena,” Resorts World general counsel Gerald Gardner wrote in the objection on Sibella’s behalf.
The objection contends Sibella “is not, nor has he ever been, in possession of any documents or communications, records, files, or any other information being sought through this subpoena. and knows or knows of Debtor/Defendant only as a former customer. Scott Sibella has no personal or business relationship with Debtor/Defendant.”
Sattler also maintains the two have no business relationship. But he says they have a personal relationship that included private social events at MGM properties where Sibella previously worked, and extended to Resorts World, where Sattler installed audio-visual equipment for vendors.
“Mr. Sibella has attended hundreds of events and met thousands of people as part of his role and position in the course of business throughout his career and that is the extent of his acquaintance in this case,” Rachel Wilkinson of Rogich Communications said in a statement on behalf of Resorts World Las Vegas.
“As the court filing indicates, it is not unwillingness on the part of Mr. Sibella to comply, it is the fact that there is nothing he could offer that would be responsive to the matter,” Wilkinson said.
In September 2021, according to an internal Resorts World memo obtained by the Current, an executive wrote to the surveillance department that Sattler “is currently being investigated by a government agency,” adding “any photos of him on property would be highly appreciated.”
Sattler says he was told in January, only after the subpoena was issued to Sibella, that he was no longer welcome at Resorts World.
