• Stormwater utility won't require sewer, water hookups (recordcourier.com) — Douglas County commissioners have approved moving forward on a new stormwater utility that aims to reduce flooding risks across Carson Valley, including Gardnerville and Minden, without forcing immediate sewer or water hookups. The plan follows recent damaging floods and ongoing lawsuits over flood impacts, and could eventually change floodplain maps while potentially requiring some nearby residents to connect to sewer if septic systems fail.
