• Rescuers aid lost snowboarder Friday evening near Diamond Peak (tahoedailytribune.com) — Emergency crews in Incline Village recently rescued a lost snowboarder who accidentally went out of bounds on the backside of Diamond Peak and sheltered in an abandoned cabin. Washoe County Search and Rescue, North Lake Tahoe Fire, and ski patrol used snow machines to guide him safely back through avalanche terrain, underscoring winter backcountry risks for local skiers and riders.
