Construction on the new neighborhood is underway now, with homes expected to rise in 2026 and repairs at Baby Windsor targeted for 2027.
   

2. Police visited North Las Vegas home days before deadly shooting that killed 2 (fox5vegas.com) — North Las Vegas police say they visited the same home three times in November, just days before a Dec. 7 shooting there killed two people, including a teenager, and injured another. Officers previously made an arrest over alcohol and issued a nuisance citation at the address. Investigators are still searching for a suspect and are asking residents with information to contact police or Crime Stoppers.

North Las Vegas convicted felon sentenced to prison for possession of firearms, methamphetamine (8newsnow.com) — A convicted felon from North Las Vegas has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison after admitting to possessing multiple firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Federal prosecutors detailed several high-capacity handguns and prior felony convictions, and a judge also ordered four years of supervised release once his prison term ends.

Investigators say impairment isn’t suspected, but speed and turning movements played key roles, and authorities are urging drivers and riders to slow down, stay alert, and watch for motorcycles.
   

5. Health District asking for feedback on proposed septic system regulations (ktnv.com) — If your North Las Vegas home uses a septic system, new Southern Nevada Health District regulations and fees could affect you, and officials are asking for your feedback now. Residents can complete an online survey or email comments about proposed five-year permits, inspection costs, and exemptions before a public hearing planned for 2026.
