• BLM approves new power line project to reduce Spanish Springs outages (rgj.com) — Spanish Springs residents can expect improved power reliability after federal officials approved a new 13‑mile transmission line from Lemmon Valley and two new substations serving the area. Driven by rapid housing growth, the project aims to reduce outages and support local homes, businesses, and services, with construction slated to begin in 2027 and impacts described as minor and temporary.
   

• Carson wrestling counting on newcomers (nevadaappeal.com) — Spanish Springs wrestling fans will see their powerhouse program competing in the High Desert League this year, separate from Carson’s Sierra League schedule. A new coach at Carson High is rebuilding a young boys wrestling squad, emphasizing hungry newcomers, strong captains, and a push for a league title against schools like Bishop Manogue and Douglas.
