Gorham Investigation Reportedly Involves A Man And Woman Shot

Authorities say the Gorham incident is not connected to a Concord double homicide investigation. NH AG says no known danger to the public.

GORHAM, NH — The New Hampshire Attorney General's Office notified the public that their office, New Hampshire State Police, and Gorham police were investigating two suspicious deaths on Main Street in Gorham on Wednesday.

Later in the day, they acknowledged that a man and a woman were found dead at the residence and autopsies would be complete in Concord at the Office of the New Hampshire Chief Medical office on Thursday.

In an interview with WMUR, Jeffery A. Strelzin, an associate attorney general said, although the cause and manner of death would not be officially determined until the autopsy was complete, it did appear to be a double homicide, based on the information they had.

Radio transmissions indicate that police, fire, and EMS responded to the address at about 3:15 a.m. for a report of two people with gunshot wounds. An ambulance from both Gorham and Berlin was dispatched to the scene. Responders were updated that two victims were with trauma from gunshot wounds shortly after the ambulances were told to cancel their response.

Two sources indicate that a man had surrendered to police and was being detained shortly after police were dispatched to the scene. Officials would not verify if anyone was being detained, but officials in a press release did say, "Based on the information currently known to investigators, there is no known danger to the public.”

Typically the official determination of the cause and manner of death will be completed before any charges are announced.

The Attorney General’s Office said that the Gorham investigation has no connection to the two homicides being investigated in Concord. The bodies of a man and woman were found on a hiking trail last Thursday after they were reported missing.
