Hiker Killed After Falling Off Edge Of Cannon Mountain In Franconia
A group took a tram to the top of the mountain and hiked down. The person slipped off a ledge and fell to their death.

FRANCONIA, NH — New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified of a hiker that had slipped while walking through the woods near the tram ski trail on Canon Mountain on Saturday.
A group of three people rode up the tram and planned on touring around the summit and returning via the tram. When the group got to the summit, they changed their minds and decided to hike down the mountain, according to conservation officers.
The group was not following a hiking trail and started down what they thought was a ski trail. The location was rocky, wet, and steep with a waterfall. As they tried to maneuver their way down, one of the hikers slipped, causing him to fall off the edge. The two other members called 911 for assistance as they could no longer see their companion.
