RUMNEY, NH — A man was shot in the parking lot of a U.S. Post Office in Rumney, New Hampshire after an argument Tuesday afternoon.

Dean Kenneson, of Rumney, is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, and reckless conduct with a gun.

Police responded to the scene by the post office after 3 p.m., to find the victim, whose name has not been released, suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso.

He was taken to a nearby hospital, and authorities say he is expected to survive.

State police say the two men knew each other and got into a verbal fight in the parking lot before Kenneson pulled out his gun and shot the other man.

Patch reached out to Rumney police and the post office for comment.

Kenneson was held pending his arraignment Wednesday in Grafton County Superior Court.
