Oyster River Middle School Plans Celebration Of Service Assembly

The school invites veterans and active military members to attend.

Oyster River Middle School Principal Jay Richard invites veterans and active service military from Durham, Lee, and Madbury to attend a Celebration of Service Assembly at the Middle School this week.

The event will be held in the morning of Thursday, Nov. 10, at Oyster River Middle School, 1 Coe Drive.

All veterans and active military personnel are invited to attend. Veterans and military service members and their family members who are interested in attending are asked to click on the "Honoring A Veteran" link on the Middle School website and register using the form. Additional details will be provided to guests upon registration.

The assembly also will recognize those within the District who are committed to community service: First responders, elected representatives, City Councilors, School Board members, and volunteers who give selflessly of their time and energy.

The assembly will include a slideshow recognizing local veterans and their family members.

“It is an honor to recognize our veterans for their service and our local public servants,” Principal Richard said. “Both groups have given so much to our country and local community. I am grateful that our staff has started what will become an annual ORMS tradition.”
