• No injuries in garage fire in Gilmanton (laconiadailysun.com) — Alton firefighters were among several Lakes Region departments called to help battle a freezing‑weather garage fire in nearby Gilmanton, where a malfunctioning engine-block-style heater ignited a vehicle. Crews kept the blaze contained to the garage, sparing the home from major damage and leaving the homeowners uninjured despite moderate garage damage and a destroyed car.
