5 Things: 12-12-12 Concert For Sandy Relief

1. Weather report: Today will be mostly sunny with a high of 40 degrees. Tonight is looking partly cloudy with an overnight low of 25 degrees. Temperatures will be similar tomorrow, but the clouds should clear the way for some more sun.

2. 12-12-12 concert tonight. Big names like Bon Jovi, Eric Clapton, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, The Who and Kanye West will be joining together tonight to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The 12-12-12 Concert For Sandy Relief will broadcast live from Madison Square Garden starting at 7:30 p.m. Find out where you can watch the event on air and online.

3. Patch Fact: According to LiveScience, the death toll from Sandy was at least 149. The confirmed deaths include 42 in New York; 12 in New Jersey; nine in Maryland; six in Pennsylvania; five in West Virginia; four in Connecticut; two in Virginia; and one in North Carolina. One person died in Canada, and at least 67 people were killed in the Caribbean, including 54 in Haiti.

4. So...much...holiday...SPIRIT! There will be a FREE holiday concert at Souhegan High School this Thursday, Dec. 14 in the Souhegan theatre at 7:00 p.m. This is sure to get you in the holiday spirit! The SHS chorus, handbells, and SHS concert band will all be performing holiday tunes.

5. Waffles! The Souhegan Valley Dollars for Scholars Waffle Breakfast is on for Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Masonic Lodge in Milford from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Help support community scholarships, while you eat delicious waffles. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children.
