2. A more PC pond. The Nashua Telegraph reports that the federal government has officially approved the name change of Mont Vernon's Jew Pond to Carelton Pond.

3. Patch Fact: Roc was a mythical bird of enormous size, known from the stories in the Arabian Nights. It resembled an eagle but was large enough to seize an elephant in its talons.

4. Pimp my snowmobile. WMUR reports that snowmobile owners have until Oct. 12 to apply for decals that contain letters, numbers and symbols.
