5 Things: Local Representatives Endorsed By NFIB

1. Weather report: Today will bring scattered thunderstorms with a high of 71 degrees. Tonight will continue to be wet with showers alongside an overnight low of 61 degrees. Look out more rain tomorrow.
2. Local candidates endorsed. Four Republican candidates for state representative in Amherst were honored earlier this week to receive the endorsement of the NFIB (National Federation of Independent Businesses). NFIB State Director, Bruce Berke, said in a statement to Representatives Rowe, Stepanek, Hansen, and Sanborn, "Your voting record indicates that you are committed to the needs of the thousands of small businesses and their employees in New Hampshire, and NFIB is confident in your continued support for the small business person when you are serving in Concord. Thank you for standing with us on the issues important to small business."

3. Patch Fact: The most rain in a three-day period fell on the tiny island of La Reunion in the South Indian Ocean. In March 2007, close to 13 feet of rain fell as Tropical Cyclone Gamede passed within 120 miles (193 kilometers) of the French-owned island.

5. Congrats! Eric Howard of Amherst has enrolled at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Howard, a graduate of Souhegan High School, is one of 595 students who make up the College's Class of 2016.
