5 Things to Do In NH This Weekend

Patch has found the good times!

1. Festival of pumpkins! The annual Milford Pumpkin Festival is back again this year with even more in store for you this weekend. They have a motorcycle show on Friday, as well as beer, winer and spirits tasting on Saturday. They have fireworks to light up the sky after the Pumkin Runner lights up the pumpkins Friday night. Why not chuck some pumpkins, or go on a haunted trail? There is too much to list here, so visit their website for more information.

2. 'Tis the season. Starting October 5, the League of NH Craftsmen is hosting a creative and festive exhibition, Holidays Around the World, at its Gallery at The Craft Center and headquarters in the SMILE! building on 49 South Main Street in Concord. The exhibition runs through December 12 and all the fine craft items are available for purchase, so visitors are invited to start their holiday shopping.
There will be an opening reception October 5 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

3. WALK! Every dog has its day… this is it! Bring your dog and your family and join us for Walktoberfest on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Merrimack, NH. 4. Rockin'! The BoDeans will be playing at the Tupelo Music Hall in Londonderry tonight at 8 p.m. Twenty five years after their T-Bone Burnett produced debut Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams led them to win a Rolling Stone reader’s poll as "Best New American Band," The BoDeans are still rocking and harmonizing gracefully, touring the U.S. regularly and exposing the kids of their longtime steadfast fans to real, heartfelt and trend-free music. Best known for their mid-90’s Billboard Top 20 hit anthem "Closer To Free," which became the theme song for Fox's "Party Of Five," Kurt Neumann (vocals and electric guitar) is still focused on, "writing songs that bring good things to the world." The new album, Indigo Dreams, is a salute to the working man – his dreams, his desires, his love, his responsibilities, his ethos.

5. Saaaaaaailing. Christopher Cross will be at the Palace Theater in Manchester Friday night. Cross, one of the biggest musical icons of 1980, virtually defined adult contemporary radio with a series of smoothly sophisticated ballads. His self titled debut album with the lead single, “Ride Like the Wind,” and other Top 20 hits, “Never Be the Same,” “Say You’ll Be Mine,” ”Arthur’s Theme” and of course, “Sailing,” put him on track to walk off with an unprecedented and record-setting five Grammy® awards in 1981. Over the last three decades he has recorded eight albums. Some consider the latest one, Doctor Faith, to be Christopher’s finest work to date. See him one night only on the Palace stage!
