AMHERST, NH - An Amherst doctor has has her license to practice suspended for 30 days after the New Hampshire Board of Medicine raised concerns about her history of prescribing opioids. According to the Union Leader, Dr. Concetta R. Oteri-Ahmadpour “may no longer prescribe any opioids.”
According to a settlement, the Board said 10 of Oteri-Ahmandpour's patients were never given a drug screen and two others were only given one before receiving opioid prescriptions. The doctor’s suspension starts April 14.
Oteri-Ahmadpour must enter into a monitoring agreement for two years, meeting quarterly to review patient records and discuss clinical treatment.

“Physical examinations, as recorded, were minimal and frequently nonexistent,” the board wrote. “There were rarely any comments or exams of the painful areas mentioned by the patient unless the patient was receiving osteopathic manipulation.”
In addition, Oteri-Ahmadpour was fined $10,000 and arranged to undergo a clinical skills assessment with Affiliated Monitors Inc.
