Amherst Firefighters Climb To Honor 9/11 Victims
The Amherst Fire Department joined others from across New Hampshire and Massachusetts in the 9/11 stair climb Sunday.
A group of Amherst firefighters joined an effort to remember the victims of the 9/11 attacks, and the brave men and women who sacrificed themselves that day.
The second annual New Hampshire Memorial 9/11 Stair Climb on Sunday had volunteers climb a total of 110 stories, the height of the World Trade Center Twin Towers, in order to remember all of those affected on that fateful day. Firefighters from New Hampshire and Massachusetts participated in the climb this year.
They began in the basement level of Brady Sullivan Plaza in Manchester and climbed up to the 20th floor, took an elevator back down, and repeated the climb five more times.
