Could Amherst See Some Snow This Weekend?
Your morning news and notes for Friday, Nov. 8.

Encore. Another year, and another championship game berth for the Souhegan High School girls varsity soccer team. The team play a grueling game against Hanover on Wednesday, which ended with a penalty kick goal (the team's sixth) by Rachel Facey after the team played a full game, two overtimes and went head to head head in a best-of-5 shoot out. When the score remained knotted at 2, the penalty shot kicks went to singles until someone scored. As a result of the win, the ladies will play Saturday at 4 p.m. at Southern NH University, seeking a state title in a match against Pembroke. Bundle up and make sure you get out to celebrate this wonderful accomplishment.
NH musician advances. Josh Logan, the Manchester-based lead singer of the Josh Logan Band, who plays all around Southern New Hampshire, has made it into the final 12 in the TV hit singing competition "The Voice." Nashua Patch reports that Logan was "saved" by Christina Aguilera, his coach on the show, after two others of his teammates received more votes for him, landing them spots in the top 12.
