Dispose of Your Hazardous Waste This Weekend

Bring your hazardous waste to the Milford Public Works Garage this Saturday.

Milford will host its annual household hazardous waste collection on Saturday, May 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Milford Public Works Garage.

Residents will have to pay a $10 user fee for up to 10 gallons (or 20 pounds) of waste per vehicle. Additional charges will apply for any additional waste above that amount.

If you bring household hazardous waste and electronics you will have to pay a $10 user fee plus the price of your electronics. Please make your electronics check payable to "RMG." Please make your $10 hazardous waste user fee check payable to "NRSWMD.

What to Bring

Pesticides, Insecticides, Herbicides, Rodent Killers, Pool Chemicals, Muriatic Acid, Lead or Oil-based Paint, Lithium Batteries, Antifreeze, Mixed Gasoline, Wood Preservatives, Varnish/Paint Strippers, Creosote, Driveway Sealer, Adhesives, Paint Thinners, Drain Cleaners, Oven Cleaners, Metal Polish, Photo Chemicals, Household Batteries purchased before 1995

What NOT to Bring

Latex Paint or Latex Driveway Sealer - Less than 1/4 full containers can be dried out in the can. For larger quantities: use a sturdy cardboard box lined with a plastic trash bag. Alternate pouring paint and adding an absorbent material (kitty litter, sawdust, etc.). Let air dry. When crispy dry, bring to the landfill or transfer station.

Smoke Detectors or Fire Extinguishers - Return to manufacturer.

Explosives, Fireworks, Ammunition - Call local fire department or police for proper disposal.

Used Oil or Auto Batteries - Landfill/transfer station, auto parts stores

Propane Tanks - Take to landfill/transfer station or Friend Lumber in Hudson

Asbestos - Contact private contractor. Nashua and Merrimack residents can use the municipal landfill.

Creosote - Contact private contractor.
