Donate Candy for Halloween Night Distribution

SAU 39 board meeting. The SAU 39 joint school board will meet on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Amherst Middle School at 5:45 p.m. Among the agenda items are strategic planning and the first draft of the FY 2015 budget. Get the full agenda on the school district website.

Donate candy. Amherst Girl Scout Brownie Troop 20066 is collecting and distributing HalloweenCandy donations to the residents of the Amherst Village for Halloween Trick or Treating. Please drop off your donations at the Amherst Library or Moulton's Market now through Oct. 26. ICYMI... And we sincerely hope you didn't, because it was a great game, the Red Sox thumped the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday night in an 8-1 win in the first game of the World Series. Game Two is tonight, in Boston again, with the first pitch shortly after 8 p.m. Tune into Fox to watch it on TV.

Weather watch. Blustery but sunny weather on tap today. The National Weather Service calls for mostly sunny skies with a high near 53. Light west wind increasing to 9 to 14 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 28 mph. Tonight will be mostly cloudy, with a low around 32.
