Nashua Community College invites high school students and their families to attend a special event April 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., designed to inspire and motivate students as they look toward their futures.

The "Dreams to Degrees Dinner," a free event to encourage high schoolers to consider higher education, will offer a unique chance for attendees to hear from current students and a motivational speaker.

Miss America 2023, Grace Stanke, will join virtually as the event’s keynote speaker. Grace will speak about her journey to pursuing her academics, while becoming Miss America and a Nuclear Engineer. An outspoken advocate for zero-carbon nuclear energy during her tenure as Miss America, Grace is now turning her passion into a full-time role as both an engineer with Constellation’s nuclear fuels team and as a company spokesperson for nuclear energy.

The dinner is an informal opportunity for high school students to learn more about the college experience. "We wanted to create an event that could excite students about the possibilities of college while also offering them a chance to see what it is like to be a student at NCC," said Michell Roman, NCC enrollment specialist.

During the evening, guests will have the chance to hear from current NCC students, who will share their personal experiences and insights into campus life. This student panel will give high schoolers valuable perspectives, allowing them to ask questions and get real-world advice.

In addition to the student panel, attendees will enjoy a catered buffet, tour the campus, and have the opportunity to speak with current students. The event is free, but an RSVP is required. Attendees can secure their spot by visiting the event's page at Dreams to Degrees Dinner – Nashua Community College

Students and families can RSVP here. Anyone is welcome! This event is FREE

"It is not just about learning more about NCC," said Michell, "It is about motivating these young people to take the next step in their academic journey and envision what they can accomplish."

Whether students are already considering NCC or just starting to think about their future, the "Dreams to Degrees Dinner" promises to be an inspiring evening. Families are encouraged to attend and explore the possibilities that lie ahead.
