Farewell from your editor. Good morning, Amherst Patch readers. Though I haven't been with you for very long, I've been the editor of Merrimack Patch since it began in 2011. After two and a half years, I've decided to move on from Patch and today will be my last day with the company. We are still uncertain on who will take over Amherst Patch going forward, but in the mean time, you can direct questions and news tips to New Hampshire Patch Regional Editor Marc Fortier at marc.fortier@patch.com. I know it's been a little turbulent in Amherst losing Robbie in August with my departure so quick on the heels of his, but I hope you continue to find all the news you can use on Amherst Patch going forward. For just a couple more days, the YMCA of Greater Nashua is offering an opportunity to help local families in need and save on a Y membership, too. Bring in to the Nashua or Merrimack branches a minimum of five non-perishable food items, which will be donated to local food pantries, and your membership join fee will be waived. Amherst Town Hall re-opened. A quick reminder that Amherst Town Hall's first floor has been re-opened, which means the Town Clerk, Community Development Office, and Tax Collection and Assessing offices are now open again at 2 Main Street. The second floor will re-open in the next few weeks. Read more here.
