Former Souhegan Soccer Standout Named to Big East Honor Roll

Freshman back Willis Griffith (Amherst, N.H./Southegan H.S.) was named to the Big East weekly honor roll for his work in a 1-0-1 week for the Wildcats.

Griffith, who has started each of Villanova's three contests thus far at center back, netted his first career goal off a set piece in a 1-1 draw with Hartford last week. He also played a key role in helping the Wildcats post their first shutout of 2013, a 3-0 win over Marist on Saturday at the Villanova Soccer Complex.

Griffith played for the New England Revolution Academy club prior to his arrival at Villanova for the fall semester.

The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday night when they visit Monmouth at 7 p.m.
