Free Coffee, Math Night and a Soccer Semifinal

What's on tap this week in Amherst.

Free coffee with the Dunkin' Donuts app. To celebrate the Boston Red Sox World Champions, Dunkin’ Donuts will treat fans who have the Dunkin’ Mobile App to a coupon for a free medium hot or iced coffee on Nov. 4 at participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations. The offer is available and redeemable only on Nov. 4 through the “My Offers” tab of the Dunkin’ Mobile App, the brand’s app for mobile payment and gifting, and is valid for guests only in Massachusetts (except Berkshire County), New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, and Vermont (Windham County only).

Math info night. Join the Amherst and Mont Vernon elementary and middle schools for a mathematical information session that will offer an overall orientation to our mathematics curriculum as the district's resource, Math in Focus. This event is supported by the curriculum office and faculty. The math night is from 7-8:30 p.m. in Wilkins School and Amherst and Mont Vernon PTAs are showing Horton Hears a Who simultaneously for students to watch while their parents attend the info session.

Planning board to meet. The Amherst Planning board will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6 for a regularly scheduled meeting in the Souhegan High School Auditorium. Among the agenda items is a discussion of temporary lighting of Bean Field. Get the full agenda on the Amherst town website.

Soccer playoffs. Load up the car and hit the road for Exeter High School on Wednesday afternoon to cheer the Souhegan girls varsity soccer team on to a semifinal win over Hanover High School at 4 p.m. A win Wednesday puts the girls into the championship game on Nov. 9 against the winner of the Pembroke, Coe-Brown Academy semifinal which is to be played right after Souhegan/Hanover. Good luck ladies!

Free book downloads. Bring your Amazon Kindle to the Amherst Town Library on Wednesday, Nov. 8 and learn how to download library eBooks through the New Hampshire Downloadable Books service! This class runs from 3-4:15 p.m. in the Johnson Meeting Room.
