Tournament soccer play. The Souhegan High School varsity girls soccer team will kick off tournament play today with a home game against Lebanon at 5 p.m. Get out and show the Spartans your support as they play toward the title of Division II State Champion.
Halloween spirit. Do you love getting the house decked out for Halloween? Throw elaborate parties with food, drinks and decorations themed for the holiday? Have a great costume you just must show off? Did you carve a fabulous Jack-o-lantern, or a whole army of them? Upload your photos that show us how you celebrate Halloween right here on Patch.
Go cultural. The Amherst Town Library offers free museum passes and discount coupons for local and Boston-area museums to Amherst Town Library cardholders. Passes are generously funded by the Friends of the Amherst Town Library. Learn more about how to reserve a pass for a great weekend day trip.
Game 6. The sixth game of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and the St. Louis Cardinals returns to Boston tonight with the Sox leading the best of seven series 3-2. One more win for Boston will clinch the title. If the Sox win the series it will be the first time since 1918 that the team will have done so at home, having swept both series it won in 2004 and 2007 in four games, winning on the road. After what can only be called a dramatic series thus far, we expect another close match-up tonight. Go Sox!
Weather watch. I hate this word right now, but it's possible parts of the area will wake up with a little snow on Wednesday morning. According to the National Weather Service Forecast, there is a slight chance of rain and snow showers before 10 a.m., then a slight chance of rain showers between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 51. Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low around 35.
