It's Official: Lambert for Congress in 2014
Gary Lambert made the announcement Wednesday, with much fanfare and little surprise.

About an hour before the big announcement, Gary Lambert stood alone at a podium inside the Hudson VFW Sept. 4, flanked by nine flags representing his military service, the American flag and state flag, front and center. His mom, Melitta Lambert, was seated in the second row.
In short order, his wife and daughters had arrived, and most of the 80 seats were filled, and Lambert was ready to make the announcement that everyone had been anticipating.
"I want to go to Washington for the chance to start solving our country's problems," Lambert said, after announcing his bid for U.S. Congress in the 2nd District.
He made his pitch to those he said have lost the most ground due to failed policies from Washington, D.C.: the middle class.
If elected, he said he would work on fixing the national debt, work on an immigration policy that makes sense, protect Medicare and Social Security.
"We have the obligation to protect these programs for the millions of Americans that count on them, like my mom, here," Lambert said.
All things, Lambert said, current U.S. Congresswoman Ann Kuster has failed to do since being elected.
"What has she done?," Lambert asked rhetorically. "Send me to Washington and I will be part of group that says this: Stop the games, let's get real and let's get back down to business."
Lambert prefaced the announcement by sharing his deep love for his country, through his service as a Marine, and as an active member of the community, both politically and through his religious faith.
"The way I look at it was have a tough battle on our hands and we need to fight back, and that begins with sending fresh troops to Washington," Lambert said.
In May he launched a "Draft Gary Lambert for Congress" Facebook page. Since then, Lambert has made no secret of his interest in running for office in 2014, seeking to unseat Kuster in the 2nd District.
According to his official biography:
Lambert is a former state senator from Nashua who served in the state senate from 2010-2012. In his first run for elected office, Lambert became the first Republican to win the Nashua District 13 senate seat in 94 years. While in the state senate, Lambert served on the Energy and Natural Resources and Health and Human Services Committees.
Lambert did not run for reelection in 2012 due to his changed Marine Corps commitment. He is a Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and has served in the Marine Corps, both active and reserve, for over 34 years. He currently serves as the Reserve Staff Judge Advocate for the II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, NC. Gary served in Iraq from 2004-2005 as the No. 2 military attorney in Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service there. Lambert plans to retire from the Marine Corps on June 1, 2014 after serving more than 35 years.
He is founder and managing partner of Lambert & Associates, a law firm specializing in patent and trademark law, with offices in Nashua and Boston. He formed the law firm in 1989 and has been a practicing attorney since 1984.
He lives in the north end of Nashua with his wife, Lori, and daughters Katherine, 17, and Grace, 12. His wife is an investment advisor and partner in the firm of Weisman, Tessier, Lambert and Halloran in Nashua.
