Labor Day Weekend: Two Deaths, 31 DWIs in NH
More than 100 citations were issued for hazardous driving.

State Police during Labor Day weekend responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash, arrested 31 people for driving while intoxicated, and issued more than 100 citations for hazardous driving.
"Troopers maintained a highly visible presence throughout the state to assure safe holiday travel," police said in a statement. "State Police regret to announce that there was one fatal motor vehicle crash ... but want to thank all those who travelled safely and courteously."The fatal crash happened Saturday in Barrington. Police said a 77-year-old man and his wife were killed after a drunk driver slammed into their vehicle.

From Friday to Monday, troopers said they made 4,924 vehicle stops, issuing 1,047 speeding tickets and 109 citations for hazardous driving.
Before the holiday weekend began, police publicized advisories urging drivers to be safe.
