Library to Honor Civil War Veterans

The Board of Selectmen, Planning Board and Historic District Commission are meeting this week; Souhegan High to hold blood drive Friday.

Selectmen meeting: The Amherst Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday at the Town Offices at 6:30 p.m.

Planning Board work sessions:
The town Planning Board will hold work sessions on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Town Offices and the Historic District Commission will meet on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Town Hall.

Souhegan High blood drive:
Members of the Souhegan High School National Honor Society will hold a blood drive on Friday at the school from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Need to get rid of your Christmas tree:
The town's Transfer Station will continue to accept Christmas trees in the brush pile free of charge for residents who need a place to dispose of their trees.

Library to hold Civil War exhibit: The Amherst Public Library will hold the program "Vanished Veterans: New Hampshire's Civil War Monuments and Memorials," on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 7 p.m.

Winter Carnival set:
The Amherst Board of Selectmen recently voted to hold the town's Winter Carnival on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Middle Road.
