Library's Civil War Veterans Exhibit Tonight

Mother of slain boy to testify on domestic violence bill: Becky Ranes, the mother of nine-year-old Joshua Savyon, the boy who was gunned down by his father during a supervised visit at the YWCA in Manchester on Aug. 9, is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee at 10:30 a.m. on Senate Bill 318, which would make domestic violence a crime.
Need to get rid of your Christmas tree: The town's Transfer Station will continue to accept Christmas trees in the brush pile free of charge for residents who need a place to dispose of their trees.
Library to hold Civil War exhibit: The Amherst Public Library will hold the program "Vanished Veterans: New Hampshire's Civil War Monuments and Memorials," on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Winter Carnival set: The Amherst Board of Selectmen recently voted to hold the town's Winter Carnival on Sunday, Feb. 9 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Middle Road.
