Local Athletes Fighting Cancer With The MMRF Event
Fundraiser for Larry Rodman and Mike Dreyer at the Amherst Country Club will help the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.

AMHERST, NH - Local New Hampshire residents, Larry Rodman and Mike Dreyer have been running triathlons and marathons for over two years now. The both compete for more than just the glory, they compete to raise funds for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF). Both are now training for the 2016 IRONMAN Mont-Tremblant in August 2016 in Quebec Canada with a goal of raising $10,000 for the charity.
To help raise funds Rodman and Dreyer have planned a special event - “Fighting Cancer With The MMRF” at the Amherst Country Club from 6 to 10 p.m. on May 21, 2016.
The event will be free to the public with live music and a cash bar and buffet. Attendees can donate to the MMRF and in return will receive tickets for great raffle prizes like signed drumsticks from Stephen Bladd of J. Geils Band, $100 gift certificate to Proctor Ski & Board, a round of golf at Sky Meadow and much more. Plus a grand prize of Cervelo R2 Road Bike and professional fitting from Fit Werx Road & Triathlon Bike Specialists valued at $2,850.

“The MMRF is an amazing organization with extremely high ratings from both Charity Navigator and Charity Watch. On the cutting edge of cancer research, the MMRF has been praised for its leadership and contributions,” states Rodman. “I have had the chance to meet many people effected by Multiple Myeloma. I have been amazed by their stories. They are still running. They are still living. They are my inspiration. If I can do something to help their fight, it makes my training and hard work worth that much more.”
Dreyer continues, “My family has been personally effected by Multiple Myeloma just like many other families, after all, multiple myeloma is the second most common blood cancer. Because of research and work by organizations such as MMRF, multiple myeloma is now a treatable disease, substantially improving the life expectancy of multiple myeloma patients. Their work is very important and I am pleased that we can help raise some much important funds to help their work.”
