Local Auction House Puts Beethoven Manuscript Up for Bid
Beethoven's "Missa Solemnis" has already received one $400,000 bid and the bidding concludes Wednesday evening.
One of Beethoven's last major compositions is on the auction block right here in Amherst until Wednesday evening, according to New Hampshire Public Radio.
RR Auction in Amherst is selling the rare Beethoven manuscript titled "Missa Solemnis" that the German composer wrote in 1820, according to NHPR. The single page that has pencil and ink marks has already garnered bids as high as $400,000 along with plenty of worldwide attention, according to NHPR.
