There is now officially an articulation agreement with Northeastern University for the data analytics program, meaning students who complete their credential at Nashua Community College can fully transfer credits earned to Northeastern to complete their Bachelor’s degree.

“This is a great opportunity for a student interested in analytics to achieve a degree in analytics from a world class university,” said Professor K. Seefeld, EdD, program coordinator for Data Analytics at NCC.

Professor Seefeld said one Class of 2024 Data Analytics student has already successfully transferred their associate degree credits toward the program at Northeastern for Fall 2024.

“Northeastern’ s data program is part of their Lowell institute which provides generous support – $15,000 scholarships and lower tuition – and encourages community college transfers and the success of disadvantaged students,” said Professor Seefeld. “The cost is actually very low through this program for a student to complete their degree AND Northeastern offers both online and in-person completion options for the analytics program.”

Career Pathways in Data Analytics

“Data analytics is very flexible – some people will have devoted ‘data analyst’ jobs however data analytics skills are used and valuable across many fields and a data analytics degree can lead to careers in business, healthcare, education, government, etc. with many job titles,” said Professor Seefeld.

“The total beauty of an analytics degree is its perfect for someone who likes doing computer work but does not have definitive plans as they can chameleon into various fields with it,” she said, noting she has used her data analytics skills in medical research, tech, and then education.

NCC’s Data Analytics Pathway

NCC’s program is available entirely online for both the associate degree and certificate option, but many classes are also available on-campus if students prefer.

Current high school students can get started on their Data Analytics journey now, as classes are available through Early College classes both at NCC and online. Early College students are eligible for two free classes per academic year. For details, contact Early College Coordinator Michelle Grimm, mgrimm@ccsnh.edu, or 603.578.6915.
